Restoring

Fillings

A composite filling is a dental filling that can be used to repair cavities and chipped or cracked teeth. This type of filling is made of a lightweight plastic combined with small grains of glass, ceramic or silica.

This material can be manufactured to precisely match the tooth’s color, which makes it ideal for visible teeth. Since the resin is malleable, it can be sculpted to fit numerous shapes and surfaces. It is suited for small and medium-sized cavities.

This type of filling eclipses unsightly amalgam (metal fittings) that the wearer may be embarrassed to reveal when talking or eating. Additionally, metal fillings are partially composed of liquid mercury, a toxic substance.

Bridges

Dental bridges are so-named because they’re false teeth that bridge the gap left by missing teeth. Not only does a bridge help when you’ve lost a tooth, but it’s a solution when you have a space that’s making your other teeth loosen and drift out of place. A dental bridge can also resolve issues caused by a skewed bite.

Rebuilding

Crowns

A dental crown is a custom-fitted, prosthetic cap that is used to improve a damaged tooth’s appearance and restore its strength, size and shape. It has numerous uses, including protecting a weak tooth from cracking, holding a dental bridge in place, repairing a broken or worn-down tooth and covering extremely discolored teeth.

ENDODONTIC

Treatment

Endodontics addresses infections of a tooth’s dental pulp. Pulp is soft tissue within the tooth that houses its blood vessels, nerves and connective tissue (canals). Trauma, severe decay or cracks can inflame or infect the pulp. When this happens, an endodontic treatment, or root canal, is performed to save the tooth from extraction.

Dental Implants

A dental implant is a permanent, artificial tooth root that is a foundation for a prosthetic crown. It can be a more effective and convenient alternative to bridges and dentures.

Dental implants are titanium screws that are surgically inserted into your jawbone. An implant is constructed of titanium, because the body does not perceive that substance as a foreign object. Over the course of several months, the bone heals around the implant, creating a strong foundation for your new tooth.
